Conquer at all costs. They set their sights on Kianto, one of the last Mayan settlements in their area of the jungle. He and his men were not like the artisans who wanted to take over peacefully. No, they were cruel, vicious. Others often called them savages. To defeat the heathens of this land, that was what they needed to be. Savage. As day turned to dusk, they descended on Kianto, slaughtering any man who dared to stand against them. Their primitive spears were no match for the Conquistadors weapons. Then they turned to searching each hut for valuables. Entering a low hut, he found the most valuable thing of all---an alluring woman hiding in a corner. The moment Antonio's eyes landed on her, he was overcome with the need to have her. He fell on her, ripping her clothes, and viciously ravaged her to slake his lust. Done, he stood and fixed his clothes. He noticed she was whispering something and bent to listen. As he did so, pain engulfed him and despite not knowing her language, her words were clear. "Beast you are, so beast you shall be". With that, the breath rattled from her and her chest rose no more. The pain seared him from the inside out. His bones began to reshape themselves, his nails became claws, his teeth elongated into sharp points, and a deafening roar was ripped from his throat. When he looked at his hands and arms, he no longer saw skin but black spotted fur. "Demon!" he heard from behind him and turned to see two of his men staring at him in horror. "It is I, your Capitán," he said, his voice an animalistic growl. "Be gone, Demon!" they bellowed and rushed him with their swords. He didn't think. He just reacted, and soon their blood coated his hands and mouth as their bodies lay dying, ravaged by a beast. By him. He truly was a demon. He fled then, seeking shelter deep in the jungle. The man he had been was gone.
